Bocca del Fuoco: Murano by night

Bocca del Fuoco is a unique opportunity to discover Murano by night. Organized for Saturday, September 16, 2023. It is a 5-kilometer route among the active furnaces and picturesque streets of the island. Starting at 7:30 pm, when the sun sets and night falls, the "Bocca del Fuoco" comes to life.

The lights of the furnaces

When the sun sets and the city lights go up, Murano becomes an even more magical place. The quiet streets are filled with a romantic and mysterious atmosphere, creating a unique aura that envelops this glassmaking community. One of the first things one notices during a nighttime visit to Murano are the illuminated furnaces. The glass windows of the furnaces give off a warm glow, allowing glimpses of the glassmakers intent on working the glass with skill. It is a unique opportunity to witness this ancient craft in action and to appreciate the skill and dedication of the artisans.

An event for seniors and children 

This event is suitable for both children and seniors. It is a non-competitive run/walk open to anyone who wants to live this unique experience. The route will wind its way through the calle and the many bridges of Murano and will be fully illuminated by candles, placed to signal and show the way ahead.

Furnaces open for the occasion 

Seeing the furnaces active at night is a unique opportunity. Discover and appreciate the art of Murano glassmaking in an atmosphere complemented by the background noise of working irons and the rumbling of glowing furnaces. A route lit by hundreds of candles, for children and the elderly, on one of Venice's most characteristic islands, through nine furnaces open for the occasion.

The planned offer

The offer of the "Bocca del Fuoco" event includes, for those registered, a Murano Glass osella, the appropriate technical jersey to participate and an invitation to the final party. The party will take place at the end of the walk. To allow everyone to enjoy this experience to the fullest, there is a limited number of registrations. Only 400 people can participate in this event. The final party

All participants upon arrival will find a delicious seafood dinner. After a long walk, the right reward! To give the palate a taste of the traditional flavors of the Venetian lagoon. The meeting point for the "Bocca del Fuoco" is at Campo San Donato starting at 4 p.m. to pick up the race packet. The start is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
